Fenrir Forest

Fenrir Forest, also known as "Valhalla", is a massive forest that takes up roughly 20% of the continent (though it appears considerably larger on some maps.) It's home to the Dragon's Sanctuary. It's also rumored to be where the goddess resides, as well as the dragon races, including one of the fiercest on the continent, Deep Dragons.

Overview

Basic Overview

Fenrir Forest is, as mentioned, an enormous stretch of forest on Kiesalhima. Its location makes the region particularly obstructive, as traveling to most of the major locations on the continent means going through or around the incredibly dangerous forest. Maps mention all manner of beasts living within, with rumors that it is also home to where both the dragon races and the goddess herself resides.

The Decree of the Goddess

Trespass into Fenrir Forest is strictly forbidden under an agreement known as the Decree of the Goddess. This agreement was proposed by the first leader of the Kimrak Church, Ramonirok, and has been upheld ever since in cooperation with the Kimrak Church and the Aristocratic Federation (Royal Family.)

Rangers

A number of ranger stations exist in Fenrir Forest, with rangers who travel out under the authority of the Kimrak Church Headquarters to see that the forest is respected and well tended to. They wear dark brown jackets with tons of pockets and tools, baring a patch with a bear design that reads "We will not invade." Criminals found to have damaged or transgressed against the forest in any way are typically supposed to be handed over to Kimrak. For sorcerers, this means a good chance of death.

Dragon Faith

Some of the oldest dragon faith villages still reside in Fenrir Forest, moving any time they're discovered by rangers or dragons. However, aside from The Great Heart, most are still on a tribal level, living in non-permanent homes that they can flee from at a moment's notice.

Deep Dragons

Fenrir Forest is said to still house the dragon races within the Dragon's Sanctuary, however, the most prominent among them is the Deep Dragon race. This race roams the forest, killing anyone who they deem to be tresspassers of the forest. This is in order to protect the Sanctuary. However, even still, they are so rarely seen that few believe they even exist.

History

Destruction of The Great Heart:

Fenrir Forest was first relevant when Orphen's group traveled through a part of the forest. Majic was captured by the Dragon Faith worshippers of The Great Heart, a village run by a Kimrak deserter, MacDougall. However, the village was entirely destroyed once the Deep Dragons guarding the forest realized that MacDougall was planning to invade the Dragon's Sanctuary.
