Phonogolos' Mansion

Phonogolos' Mansion lies on the outskirts of Kinkhall Village. It was once inhabited by a sorcerer of the same name, but was ultimately said to be abandoned, with many of the villagers claiming the building was haunted.

Overview

Goddess Statues

Phonogolos' mansion is said to contain a massive statue of the Wyrd Sisters that stands roughly 4 meters tall and is estimated to weigh nearly three tons. It's located near the main entrance, visible even from the higher floors. However, the Goddess of the Present has a scar in her forehead, as if struck by a chisel.

Phonogolos' Morgue

Phonogolos' Morgue is a huge room in the basement of the mansion. At the back it contains a massive aquarium roughly 2 meters tall, covered in moss and full to the brim with murkey water. There's a large dust chute above the tank. Though it's not explicitly stated, it feels like this is probably how the large fish within was fed, as the chute is connected to a defunct laboratory medical room where the creatures brought their victims back to. The rest of the room is filled with rows of boxes, which have taken over most of the available space in the room. Each box contains one of his Creatures. The room is lit by what is implied to be a spell, suspending light in the middle of the room.

This room can also be translated as Phonogolos' Resting Place, which also makes sense. I chose to go with Morgue because it's not just Phonogolos there, but countless Creatures waiting to be activated.

History

Creature Experiments:

Phonogolos' mansion was the site of his numerous Creature experiments, and was, at the time, occupied by Phonogolos, his assistant, and several live-in servants. However, at one point, Phonogolos was transformed into a Creature himself, and no longer able to watch over the mansion, it was eventually deserted. Over the years, bandits and other hooligans slowly crept into the mansion, robbing it of anything they thought might be of value. Phonogolos could only stand by and watch.

Destruction:

When Orphen was brought to the mansion by Hirietta, it became a battleground between four of Phonogolos' Creatures and the young sorcerer from the Tower of Fang. While most of the Creatures were destroyed, Sammy remained. However, he'd hidden within the mansion itself, his gaseous form fitting into every crack in the walls. Realizing that Sammy's composition was close to that of oxygen, Orphen proposed the idea of burning the mansion down. Theoretically, this would cause Sammy's body to compound with the surrounding material, allowing them to burn the gaseous Creature. This plan of action was carried out, and the mansion was burned to the ground.

The Tower of Fang is a Majutsushi Orphen fan site and claims no ownership. Series © Yoshinobu Akita and Fujimi Shobo.
